Day 1
Nairobi to Samburu – Into the Northern Wild
Your private driver-guide will greet you in Nairobi for an early start northwards. As the city gives way to open farmland and mountain views, enjoy curated pit stops en route for coffee and stretching. Upon entering Samburu National Reserve, the world shifts—dusty reds, doum palms, and the dry, rugged beauty of the Ewaso Nyiro River valley set the stage for your northern safari.

Full Day in Samburu – The Special Five & Timeless Beauty
After an early breakfast, set off on a full-day game drive through the reserve’s unique ecosystems. Today’s mission: the Samburu Special Five—Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and reticulated giraffe. These species, only found in northern Kenya, thrive in this dramatic landscape of thorny scrub and sweeping acacia plains.
Break for a hot lunch back at the lodge or enjoy a bush picnic if the wildlife sightings are too good to pause. In the afternoon, enjoy more quiet exploration, or choose to visit a nearby Samburu village to learn about local culture and traditions from those who know it best.
